Triratna Buddhist Community – Bombarral

  Triratna  – The triple Jewel. The three most precious jewels in Buddhist are the Buddha (the Awakened One), the Dharma (the Buddha’s teachings) and the Sangha (the spiritual community of those practicing the teachings).

Sangharakshita , the founder of Triratna and dear teacher who’s been greatly missed since his departure in October 2018, gave the Sangha particular emphasis. Friends. To create and maintain healthy friendships because they inspire us and give us determination to stay on the threefold path of Ethics, Wisdom and Meditation.

Practicing meditation is the equivalent to the mind of exercise to the body. We care for the body, we care for the mind.

In the context of the Triratna Buddhist Community we practice the Mindfulness of Breathing and the Metta Bhavana (cultivation of Loving-Kindness), and sometimes other meditations.

If there are new participants, the practice will be fully or partially guided; or there will be a silent practice if all the participants are more experienced. So, no previous meditation experience is required, and we welcome all levels of practitioners. There will be plenty of time in the beginning to settle and prepare for the meditation.

By practicing together, we support each other and keep each other uplifted. Because we want to be a force for Good in the world.
